I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to list their albums of the day.

This is a good way to mention albums or to be reminded what exists in your own collection.

So, I'll start and it's even in the right order.

1) Reale Accademia Di Musica - Debut
2) Hawkwind - Hall Of The Mountain Grill
3) Vos Voisins - S/T
4) Alrune Rod - Hej Du
5) Thork - Weila
6) Beardfish - The Void
7) Camel - Rain Dances
8) Ivan Graziani - Ballata per 4 stagioni

That's mainly what I did with my day off Cool

(Well, these ones are obvious as of the time of this writing)
Can - Soundtracks
Camel - Moonmadness

Also,
Yes - Relayer

Now that I'm looking at this list, I've realized that I don't really listen to as much music as you do, Jody. Big smile I'll get burned out.

I started out with some Can:

Can - The Lost Tapes box set (disc one)

And then, I hit the first seven Steve Miller Band albums in order, in their entirety:

Children of the Future
Sailor
Brave New World
Your Saving Grace
Number 5
Rock Love
Recall the Beginning: A Journey From Eden

edit:
And then the ride home from work:

Jandek - Ready for the House
Conflict - Increase the Pressure

(about half of each album)

In a Glass House— Gentle Giant
Thick as a Brick— Jethro Tull
Animals— Pink Floyd

I probably won't listen to any more music today. As I sometimes like to say, one of the greatest things about music is it's ability to shape the silence afterward.Smile

I guess it is, but I heard it played around the house a lot when I was a kid.  I didn't discover any of his proggier stuff until much later.  So a lot of the songs on Angel Station really take me back to my childhood.  It's sort of like listening to the Alan Parsons Project.

Selling England by the Pound - Genesis
Relayer - Yes
Snowshoe Rabbit - At Sea

Luv'n me some classic symph, with a folk/pop/indie album thrown in for good measure.

By the way, does anyone have the remastered version of Relayer with the three bonus tracks?  I never paid them much attention, but today I listened closely to the early studio run-through of Gates of Delirium for the first time.  It's really interesting to hear how the piece developed between that version and the version that ended up on the album, because they're very different and the contrast provides a lot of insight into Yes' composition process.  Even the lyrics are almost totally different!

After being initially VERY disappointed with it, I've found after several listens it really comes together well! So it's a bit more straightforward, but Nolan tastefully places nice subtle and restrained keyboards all over it, and the new singer is pretty good! Always makes me laugh, that spoken word into where at the end he bellows `CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?!' reminds me so much of Bruce Dickenson from Iron Maiden lol! Overall, really great songwriting, catchy melodies - very happy with it! Glad I didn't just dismiss it on my first listen.

I have it, the 2003 remasters are worth the money. You can pick them up quite cheaply nowadays. The bonus tracks are really cool, especially on TfTO as you get an extra album worth of bonus material.

for me:

Ghost - Opus Eponymous
Horslips - The Tain
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
