Does anyone besides me consider Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and most other early 70's Metal bands to be prog? When I first found the Prog Archives site I was amazed at the number of Metal bands in there.
When I saw Opeth,Rush, Night Sun,Warhorse, Uriah Heep and others I got to thinking that all rock is progressive in its own way. Black Sabbath has songs that are jazz influenced, Zeppelin uses folk, blues jazz. Deep Purple is classically based. There isn't much difference between the prog bands and the metal bands of the 1970's. Also, I am aware that Opeth is a newer band but I think that they @#$#in' rock.

1. Welcome to the forum!

2. You posted in the wrong category.

3. Your question has already been answered several times ... I recommend that you search the non-prog music category for the band names, and you'll find threads where the question whether they should be included has been discussed.
