A very strange dating. On what have you had your basis on?

For me, more logical dating would be:
1967 — 1969 (proto-prog) — The Doors, Deep Purple
1969 — 1973 (early classics) — early King Crimson, Genesis, Yes
1974 — 1977 (late classics) — Wetton-era King Crimson, early Queen, early Rush
1977 — 1979 (middle/transitional period) — start of minimalist era
1980 — late 80's (new wave era art rock) — Peter Gabriel, 80's King Crimson, neo-prog & Marillion, synth-era Rush
1990's — nowadays (post-progressive) — Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Radiohead, Dream Theater

1st  period for the classic prog albums.
After that 3rd period because of neo prog.

I think it's rather obvious that the best years were the first ones (if we talk about "strictly" prog rock, not crossover, or prog-related or math-rock...).

But why a prog poll is in general music discussion section ?
