I have been accused of spamming by one of our members. Please can someone tell me exactly what spamming is. This is the first forum I have been a member of so I'm a bit naive in some of the conventions!

Well Snowie, for example, the Golden Gate Bridge is responsible for spamming San Francisco and Marin County...

The Poniatowski Bridge spams the two halves of Warsaw...

And finally - no Tower Bridge spam = more London traffic jam

So you see, Snowie, no need to worry, spamming is basically bridging unnecessary gaps in communication, a highly commendable activity.

I don't mind spamming if the thread lends itself to it - like the Mariah Carey thread. But I hate it when people start nonsense discussions involving big images or massive smiley rows that extend the page width and make the posts hard to read.

Spam is ham, advertised with big letters

Ignore it. Don't believe the hype, Snowy. I've seen spammers and you're not one of them.

You just went a little berserk with Velvetclown:

It's not a big deal, but you abused the thread about Neal Morse for a nonsense discussion. I think that this thread is a good example for spamming, it begins with a normal discussion and then just explodes into stupidity. I don't mind that, as long as the members who are trying to discuss the topic are comfortable with it.

Let me quote Maani here: PEACE.

Yes I see what you mean. But it was a two way conversation that just kept going and maybe got out of hand.

Nobody filled the page up with smileys and made the page big though, and it was intended to be humourous! I can see that it failed in that for some, but I remember now you're irritation with it!

Anyway it was Barbs not Velvet!!
