Wasn't sure where to put this topic.
Is there anything special planned to commemorate a decade of this great site? I'm aware it was created in 2002, yes? but was it an active site/forum by 2003, or was it 2004? Maybe a banner on the home page celebrating 10 years of PA. Maybe a contest to win albums or something? or maybe a big change within the site, either in looks or in design?

I've been contributing to this forum for nearly eight years!! Unbelievable. My typing is geting wrose too.
Actually darkie I noticed you have been here nearly as long as me. How come I only really noticed you in the last few years? What was your first avatar?

Been here for almost 8 years myself...errrr with a "break" there for awhile.
What a ride it's been.
In the time I've been here, I've been through 3 girlfriends, lived in different countries and 4 different states, had 67 jobs () and yet, this place has remained a constant.

Yep, I've seen some changes on PA since I joined - some for the best, others not as much. Overall I don't miss the time wasted on this website (which I grant isn't that much).

I wasn't the most active member here between 2006 and 2008. I used the site itself more than anything, and only came on the forums to ask questions, usually. I also wasn't much into hanging out in online forums much back then. However, one time I was searching through really old threads, and was surprised at how many times I popped up in them. When I signed up here, I was a relative newbie, and I completely abandoned prog music for the most part in 2007 and 2008, but in summer 2008, I became more active, partially because I started to really get into more prog stuff, and been like that since.
I've had many avatars over the years.

This forum exists in its current form since 29 January 2004 (at least this was the day when M@X signed up). I have been lurking around for almost five years now (the 3.5 years before I signed up not included). Tempus fugit...

^ I also waited a while before I signed up for the forums, though I did sign up for the site sometime in early summer 2005 when I discovered the site, because I have reviews from months before my "official" join date under my avatar.

I'm jealous of you old-timers. I've been "online" since 1985 and a prog fan since 1989, but I didn't discover this site (or the forums, in any case) until 2011. Still not sure how you hid from me for so long!

When I joined 3 days later, I think there were only about 15/20 of us; I'd only typed in a quick search for 'Progressive Rock' because I was bored at work.
The rest is history; punctuated by argument, debate, laughs, making friends (some now genuinely firm & close friends) & over 9 years on, we're still arguing, debating & laughing over the same subjects.

Yes, the year 2005 is mentioned quite some times, I also noticed.
There was a real spirit of adventure in the old days, I remember.
There has been a lot of recycling of threads since then, and some of us (including me) have been absent for some months during those 8 years, because of boredom or irritation, but a lot of us stayed in the end. It's really nice.

10 years! Good job, guys! I'm proud to have been a part of this.
Although I first registered in 2009, I've only been a daily/regular visitor for the last year or so. Before that I used to read reviews and participate in the occasional poll, stopping by once or twice a month, tops.

Congrats to the PA community!
I've been reading the reviews the past 7 years or so, but only really participated the last 4. The thing that really pulled me in was the big gang bang we had in Sweden 2009... Good stuff.

Certainly , John! PA has aided and abetted my plundering of my bank account, but all I keep doing is buying fabulous albums, haven't had a stinker in years! But the true quality is the wonderful people I have met on this site , starting with the sadly departed but never forgotten "FEBUS" ! Also I can claim that I am lucky to have true good friends like Mellotronstorm, Finnforest, Lazland, Guldbamsen,Rivertree, Atavachron, Rushfan4, Conor Fynes, B_Olariu, Man With hat , Lucas, Mervir .......well I can go on and on.......There are a few idiots but you know you you are, bless them for they do not understand....LOL ... Some sterling artists have sent me Cds, letters, I even met a few (the amazing CAP in Milan). PA has made my life so much better .........LOVE YOU ALL
