I saw a review in Prog magazine of the first Cryptex album a couple of years ago, and wondered then when they'd be added to PA's list.  Just now I thought of them again, and was surprised to see they're still not here.

"Simon Moskon, Ramón Fleig and Martin Linke are: CRYPTEX – the smiling madness! A bit of Woodstock, flower power and gospel, a sound that is smiling, swearing and living, lots of surrealism, amazing songs and charisma. Apart from ambition and confidence, both important characteristics for a band, CRYPTEX stands out due to another characteristic: They are progressive folk rock musicians who have searched and found their own distinctive style! In their songs they experiment with an extensive “chemistry set” of music. The result is an impressive and highly explosive mixture of rock, alternative with slight folk attitude and prog-art of the old kind. Everyone listening to a live concert of CRYPTEX is rewarded with a perfect mixture of brute guitar riffs, thunderous bass lines, groovy drums, epic sound walls, an incredible musical enthusiasm, Rock’n Roll, experimental elements, keyboard arrangements that make you dance, as well as an unconditional love and passion for music! Thanks to these qualities, CRYPTEX has attracted the attention on the republic’s stages and of established music magazines since the beginning of 2009. The three musicians look back at a long list of concerts and successes which brought them an increasing number of fans and an enormous media presence all over Germany and large parts of Europe. An evening with Cryptex is in any case a success for your event, and will leave a lasting impression on everyone!"

They were suggested in the Prog Metal team thread by a member of that team at the end of January 2012 after the band played as the supporting act for the Pain of Salvation gig in Stockholm. It was more-or-less unanimously decided that Cryptex themselves were not metal, and two other members of the team were unsure if they were even prog at all (apart from the 11-minute track 'A Colour Called Gently' off the 2011  'Good Morning, How Did You Live?' album).
However it was suggested that Crossover might be an option for them, and a 'move' conclusion was reached on progfreak: http://progfreak.com/Cryptex-146834.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Cryptex-146834.html?path=pa/recent .

However it doesn't appear that the move was actually made.

The 'Good Morning, How Did You Live?' album is on spotify: http://open.spotify.com/album/2eVMfhUseaEkpuGzPFRARn" rel="nofollow - http://open.spotify.com/album/2eVMfhUseaEkpuGzPFRARn

All their music can be streamed via the http://www.myspace.com/cryptexmusic" rel="nofollow - myspace link in the o.p. , and here is the 11-minute 'A Colour Called Gently' track:

The band is a mixture of Metal, Folk, a touch of Classical, and of course a bit of Prog Rock.

Further thoughts anyone??  Ermm

The three members of the Metal Team who voted went for one ''move'' one ''no'' and one ''abstain'' which could also be a ''no'' if pushed. That they were never actually moved to Crossover suggests to me that there was little enthusiasm for the band, and to me the album sounds mostly like straightforward rock with some prog embellishments (with the exception of the long track which is proggy). However they are on progwereld and babyblaue, and they are trying to be a prog band so I think the Crossover Team should have the call.
