The copy we had at my parent's place was the yellow one but it belonged to my oldest sister and when she moved away she took it with her, after that I never bought it in vinyl again. Some day I should ask her if she still has it, I don't think she ever listens to it and I would like it in my collection...

I have two Sgt Pepper's vinyl albums: one is glistening, deep ebony in colour and the other is a shiny, dark shade of onyx.

I didn't know it came in anything other than black. I assume the yellow one is a later rerelease?

Depends on whether I've had psychedelics or not.

In which case it's something that looks like an elf blowing smoke rings from a corncob pipe.

I was living in Spain at the time and our yellow copy was a Spanish release, I'm not sure how the original editions in the UK came out.
I guess that our yellow copy must have been purchased around 1970 but I'm not sure, I was only 4 years old by 1970.

The "Red" and "Blue" compilation albums were originally released in colour vinyl (red and blue, unsurprisingly).

Mine was bought in 1967 right after it came out and was black.

Same for me.....that's the first I knew that colors were made.

An original Capitol black and a Japanese Picture Disc pressed in the 90's that's apparently quite  rare & collectible given to me by my boss when i worked music retail. I never play the picture disc. Sounds awful.

As I mentioned, a few days ago I asked my sister if she still had the vinyl, she admitted that she had no idea, had not listened to any vinyls in many years, they did not have a working turntable anymore and she did not even know where the vinyls were, probably packed somewhere, but she promised to have a look.

I did not have any expectations, and just today I received a box by post, I opened it and... here it is, she kindly has sent it to me (she lives in Spain, me in Belgium). Smile

It's in good condition and even the cut-outs are still intact!

What I did not remember is that it has a printing error which makes it even a bit more special, the disc labels have the wrong song titles printed, the side letter A / B is correct but the songs listed are the ones on the other side (with Spanish translations, these were still Franco times)
