I did a poll about Steven Wilson's discography including his latest release, so I thought I should do the same with Riverside, so here it is. I think SLS is the favourite, but who knows...this should be interesting!

I'll go with Anno Domini High Definition. I don't really know their third album, but I'd probably still say ADHD. Their new one is very enjoyable though, and SLS is a 2000s prog classic.

My favorite is actually the Memories In My Head EP.  From their studio albums I still prefer the debut the most. But really, they are all great.

I can understand why people tend to pick Second Life Syndrome, but personally I connect strongest with "Out Of Myself". I enjoy them all a lot though, really. Not to mention there have been some great EPs too.

SLS is one of the best prog-metal albums that I've ever heard

Gotta go with the SLS.

The two epics are sublime.

Either their debut or ADHD.

I'll go with the former.

I'd rank them:

1. Anno Domini High Definition
2. Out of Myself
3. Second Life Syndrome
4. Shrine of New Generation Slaves
5. Rapid Eye Movement

All are very good to excellent, but Second Life Syndrome is simply the best prog metal album I've heard and actually one of the 10 best albums I've ever heard.

2. All others

1 - Out Of Myself
2 - Rapid Eye Movement
3 - Anno Domini High Definition
4 - Shrine of New Generation Slaves
 which leaves
5 - Second Life Syndrome

I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but SLS just didn't connect with me in it's entirety. Not that it's bad (Riverside have yet to release a BAD album)...

I'm gonna go with the latest, at least I seem to be unable to stop playing it, but before that it was ADHD.  SONGS and ADHD share one thing in common, I didn't take to either one of them right away and then they just took over my psyche.

I love these guys to death, all their albums and the EPs.  Not to mention Lunatic Soul.  Goddamn.

I like everything by Riverside, but since Shrine of New Generation Slaves doesn't have so many votes, so I'll vote for that.

Out of Myself has a lot of my favorite Riverside songs(Loose Heart, The Curtain Falls, I Believe), so that.

Gosh, this is soooo difficult to choose. I've actually been on a bit of a Riverside bender lately and I love each and every album for whatever reasons. Very tough call between 'Out Of Myself', 'Rapid Eye Movement' (probably gets my vote in the end) and 'ADHD'. The live album, 'Reality Dream' is one of the best recent live recordings I've heard (though they don't stray from the studio versions too much). I'm just starting to warm up to their latest release after many spins - killer stuff on that also. The jury's out for now......

Although they have several masterpiece-level albums out in my book, this is an easy one for me. ADHD all the way! A truly flawless album from start to finish, and definitely in my personal top 10. It has one of the best starts to an album I've ever heard, it doesn't dip in the middle even a little, and Hybrid Times is just...

You're not alone there - SLS is my least favourite as well, but still quite the excellent album. Maybe too much 'metal' for my liking. Mariusz D is an amazing bassist (not that the others aren't as good on their respective instruments....).

Funny, I used to think I was alone in not liking SLS as much as the others. Don't get me wrong, it's still a 5* album to me, but I think that both ADHD and SONGS are much more effective as whole albums.

Well I'll try to vote...
it's hard decision since I love all of them...3 are masterpieces Out Of Myself, SLS and ADHD and really it's like deciding on which is your favourite son!!

Well my vote goes to
SLS

6. Out Of Myself

4. Shrine Of The Next Generation Slaves
3. Rapid Eye Movement
2. Anno Domini High Definition
1. Love, Fear and the Time Machine (very different from the previous releases, nearly masterpiece Thumbs Up)

Anno Domini for me. I do feel that on Shrine and on The Time Machine they lost some of their edge.

I haven't got/heard the Time Machine album yet, but I felt shrine was pushing for the 4th star - if it weren't for the 'Night Sessions' bonus LP, it would rank as a strong 3......
.......not that the songs themselves weren't up-to-snuff, I just thought the overall production was a little, well, kinda dull. Not punchy and bright like the previous albums. And ADHD is quite an album.....

You may be suprised of the new band's direction. Much more focused on songs, which are minimalistic, but very well composed at the same time.

Yeah, it's exactly the Punch what is missing from the last two albums... just the expression I had been looking for. And yes, the new album may be very well composes, and all, it's certainly an enjoyable listen, but I still feel it's missing something... well, that punch. I guess from now on I'll have to check out their albums before deciding to buy them or not.

I'm sure the next will be a drums/bass/keyboard extravaganza for Poitr, and it will be a killer !!!

Their next album seems to be mostly made from the bonus tracks that have come with special releases of their previous album, and perhaps songs that didn't make it into the albums. I understood it would be a lot of ambient. But they were reworking the songs (I guess something like what Haken just did with their first demos). They were actually working or planning it with Piotr... but obviously he didn't finish what he had to do for the album, so I guess we'll have to see how the band completes that one.

^ The 'Night Sessions' music is superb - a lot of work on the keyboarder's part. Again proving how AMAZINGLY VERSATILE this Polish unit is. As a fan, I feel for his band-mates' loss. Think I'll spin ADHD after Meshuggah.

Just completed ADHD not long ago, it truly captures the listeners' attention and doesn't let go until the fading notes. I do detect their Marillion influence (and Deep Purple - thanks to Lapaj), but they really concocted an original take on Modern-Progressive music. Hats off.................
