Italian (avantgarde) prog band NichelOdeon are currently crowdfunding their second release "Bath Salts". Featuring the extraordinary singer Claudio Milano (think of him as a original heir of Demetrio Stratos' art) "Bath Salts" is described "a contemporary minstrel talking about a cannibal world" and includes contributions from five decades of italian avant garde, pop, prog, jazz and classical music — featuring the talents of

Walter Calloni (ex PFM and Area ecc.), Paolo Tofani (Area), Alfonso Santimone (Robert Wyatt), Elio Martusciello (Chris Cutler, Tim Hodgkinson), Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Damo Suzuki), Paolo Carelli (Pholas Dactylus) and MANY more

plus some INTERNATIONAL guests such as Michel Delville (The Wrong Object, Elton Dean, Annie Whitehead, Richard Sinclair, Chris Cutler, Benoît Moerlen, Guy Segers).

The album will include 4 cover versions:
"Surabaya Johnny" e "Die Seeräuber Jenny" by Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht;
"(This Side of) The Looking Glass" by Peter Hammill;
"Portami un fiore" by Brecht and the great Italian composer Fiorenzo Carpi.

All in all "Bath Salts" will be a double concept album (100 minutes of music, 20 tracks!!!!) with some of the most original and creative music, Italy has to offer today to the prog community.

You can help the project, by pre-ordering the release, in order to make sure, that good and independent progressive music has a future.

for details.

There is a great interview with Claudio Milano on http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=74970" rel="nofollow - these pages and you may want to check out their excellent free live release "NO". It's available on their http://www.claudiomilano.it/" rel="nofollow - website (MP3 and FLAC) and it's a good start to enter the musical world of NichelOdeon.

And no, I'm not related to the band, I'm just a huge fan and admirer of the art of Claudio Milano.

Support good music and keep on proggin',

Sal

Great guys ... hopefully there are some more friends out their to support NichelOdeon.

Claudio Milano stated that he won't make any studio releases for quite a long time, so this album is going to be a "definitive statement" of present day CM at the top of his possibilities.

I'm VERY curious about the stuff.

Whatever Claudio does, I've got his back, the man makes great music and has gracefully shared some of it with me for only a review...can't wait to hear the completed album

Yeah, Claudio IS a hell of a guy. Such a talented and visionary singer. I can't wait to hear the new album.

Great to see your support, guys. I know, Claudio's music isn't for everyone, it's good to know that he finds his audience and gets its support when needed.

Keep sharing the news. Even if the minimum is reached, I'm PRETTY sure, there are a lot of expenses to be covered which weren't included in the minimum (which is only for the pressing, if I understood correctly). I'm sure a few extra bucks for Promotion and maybe to pay the studio bills won't be bad.
