Two of the most widely acclaimed singers in Grunge and Alternative Rock. Who's the best singer?
Chris Cornell for me

I have to go with Eddie on this one.  I like Soundgarden, but Chris Cornell's voice was the one slight problem that I always had with them.

Nah, but seriously, probably Eddie. There's just something about Cornell that irritates me.

Cornell, by the widest possible margin you can conceive.

I can't decide. Their singing is the major reason i love both bands.

I really like Cornell's voice...  I don't really like Vedder's voice

A tie based on Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, but my vote goes to Vedder because of the Into The Wild Soundtrack ^ and his Ukulele album vocals

Me too for the Into the Wild soundtrack, love that album and I really need to get the Ukelele album. Cornell is technically a better singer but Vedder has the better sounding voice imo.

Love them both, but I guess Cornell by a hair.
I would vote for Layne Staley too if that was an option.

Right here.  I like Eddie's voice for PJ, but overall, Cornell blows him out of the water.

I may be a tad biased, though... LOL

Cornell. Never been a fan of the "goat man" style of singing that Vedder, Staley, Stapp and the Screaming Trees guy indulged.
