I defined "Classic Era" as the era in which the albums are consistently rated at 4 stars, though there may be an album/albums that are lower within the selection.

Magnification is a relly good album, but I do love Tormato. I find myself returning again and again. Madrigal, Arriving UFO, Future Times etc. never understood why it is so despised.

I actually really like all of these, all fit different moods! Even `Open Your Eyes' has a handful of decent tracks, and Squire's bass is still nice and thick on it.

I love `Drama', but I think that will get the easy win here...

So I go with JesusisLord here, `Magnification' was such a grand, wonderful, epic statement from them. Kind of wished they'd finished up on that instead of `Fly From Here' which, lets admit it, was very pleasant, undemanding `Dad-rock' at best.

You can't really vote for Tormato, because, like it or not, it's part of the classic era.

Yes, great album

I voted for The Ladder. But reflecting on my choice, I regret not voting for either Magnification, or one of the first two albums.

Not by my definition used in this poll series.

Voting for the same album. Absolutely great stuff, even if it wouldn't get the prog tag.

TIme and A Word, followed by Drama.

This is a tough one, for me anyway.
Different eras, different "feels", but I'll have to go with Drama followed by a VERY close Magnification.

I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Tormato I guess...

I'll go with 90125.  It was a huge hit when I was a teenager and I still have pleasant memories of it.  I still like every song on it, except maybe "Our Song".

Honorable mention to "Magnification", a very strong effort from them.  I'd place "Give Love Each Day" on an all-time favorite Yes song list.

Drama, all the way. If Drama wasn't on the list, I'd probably go for Keys, or even 90125. I don't like the YesWest albums after Big Generator at all.

Time And A Word, followed closely by 90125 and the s/t. The Ladder is nice too.

Tough choice between the Ladder and Drama, but the Ladder needs a little help in this poll, so my vote goes there.

90125

Outside of the cheesy "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (which saved the band's bacon, financially) the album has many great strengths.  "It Can Happen" is one of the best post-classic period Yes songs IMHO.

Definitely "Drama"...I remember hearing "Tempus Fugit" on the radio when it was first released and went right out to buy it.  I couldn't imagine a Yes album without Jon Anderson, but Drama worked.  Still one of my fave Yes albums.

"Tormato" comes 2nd even though "Onward" is my most hated Yes song...love Future Times, Don't Kill the Whale, Release Release, On the Silent Wings of Freedom...even the twee songs on side 2 were kinda cool.  Had 4th row seats for the Tormato tour in Oakland CA '78...great show.

The list just reminds of how much good music these guys have released even out of their 'Classic Era'.
Drama followed by Magnification.

Interestingly I voted for Drama which has some good tracks on it but I prolly listen to the first 2 Yes lp's more.....imho everything after Going For The One was downhill  and they never recaptured that  quality Yes sound'.

3 - Union
4 - 90125

The rest I could do without.
