Another post-rock poll by me. What's your favorite?
For me, it's like:
1. Static
2. Sleep
3. Storm
4. Antennas to Heaven

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I love the whole album equally, but...

1. Storm
2. Sleep
3. Static
4. Antennas

I consider drone metal to be progressive...

I believe there are 2-3 similar polls in which "Sleep" was "winning".

Between "Storm" and "Static" I choose "Static".

Idk.

Any of the three single word songs can take it.

I'll give a vote to sleep since it's losing.

Static. Is a done deal. :)

Makes me think of Fates Warning's classic track STATIC ACTS. Brilliant. :)

I like the ambient atmospheres in Antennas to Heaven so that's my vote.

The one with the piano at (toward?) the end.  Is that "Static"?

Love this band, love this album. This is seriously one of the greatest things to have graced popular music in like the past 50 years. An immense piece of work. I'll go with Storm, just for the build up alone. Static's the only one I've found slightly tedious, but that's probably cause I've played this album to death now.

It's Storm. And I agree, that's a stellar ending.

Good thing I didn't vote yet, then!
Storm!

But "Static" has that lovely string section with radio in the background at the very start.

I love the whole thing but voted for "Storm"...for some reason the AM-PM Mini-market announcement always makes me feel good...

And that wonderful preacher's speech.. I'm not religious at all but I absolutely love hearing his voice on top of all that beautiful strings.. And the climax afterwards.. Such a piece!

Thanks! Just discovered it a few days ago and I'm amazed! I've really got to check out Dan Barrett's other projects.

We used to sleep overnight, on the beach. They don't do it any more! Things changed. They don't sleep any more on the beach...

Yeah that's a highlight for sure. The thing I just have with that one is that it takes way too long to start and way too long to end. It doesn't capture my attention like the other ones do.

Agreed. While I am a fan of drone and ambient, Static manages to find a way to become tedious just at a couple moments. Still a very well done track, but not on the same level as the other tracks. I think Antennas to Heaven did what Static was trying to do better.
