Which of the past three Anathema records do you think is the best? I'm gonna have to go with Weather Systems personally.

Weather Systems. Only recently got Falling Deeper which I havn't listened to very much. I also bought a reasonably priced box set of their Sony releases Judgement, A Fine Day To Exit and A Natural Disaster. I think those could have been included in the poll perhaps? They are decent and show the evolution of the band.

I think the records before We're Here... are really different stylistically, as they incorporate aspects of doom and metal. Doesn't mean they aren't fine records, which they are, especially Judgement, but I feel like it's almost impossible to compare them to the newer stuff. Therefore, I thought it wouldn't be appropriate to incorporate them into the same poll.

All three of these are top 50 albums for me, and I actually have all of them on LP. Having said that, Weather Systems is top 20, and one of the crowning achievements in its (albeit small at the moment) field.

Fantastic band and I hope they keep moving forward. Already re-defined two genres thus far.

Interesting that I'm the first to vote for WHBWH.  I just so fell in love with that from the first time I heard it.  Weather Systems is great, but I find it slightly inferior.  It has nothing as wonderful as "A Simple Mistake", "Universal" or "Hindsight".

We're Here Because We're Here; Weather Systems is a weak follow up IMO.

We Are Here is a perfect album, not a weak second on it!

We're Here Because We're Here, it seems to be the most consistent out of these three.

The reason I prefer Weather Systems over WHBWH, is because I connect with it more, musically and lyrically. WS feels more sincere, and I can hear that passion through the music. This is only my interpretation though.

Not much between WHBWH and WS for me. The former edges it for beeing slightly more consistent.

But none of these are my favourite from the band. I prefer the three preceding ones; Judgement, A Fine Day to Exit and A Natural Disaster (not necessarily in that order).
