The Human Equation is the masterpiece among these brilliant works. Unbeatable Awesome band - one of the greatest!

Love all of them, but Into the Electric Castle is easily my favorite. I fell in love upon the first spin, and I discovered Ayreon with this one, so it has a special place in my heart. One of my all-time favorite albums. ^^^ I also love Arjen Lucassens solo albums and especially the Star One albums Victims of a Modern Age is a masterpiece and the recent solo album simply is stunning musicianship. -------------

For some reason I don't see any appreciation for the band's debut, even among the fans. I really think it's their best album, very well done. |

Quite a surprise to find so much love for The Human Equation, even though I like it, it probably is my least favorite by Ayreon. I am actually surprised at the love for Actual Fantasy as I just couldnt get into that one for some reason. Still great but not up to standard of the next albums. -------------

I'm not much of a fan of Ayreon at all, the only album I've really enjoyed was the re-release of `Actual Fantasy Revisited' because it was somewhat more restrained and focused, without endless vocalists. Kind of reminded me of a heavier version of the Alan Parsons Project for some reason! Still, it was very `prog by numbers' to me, all the guitar/keyboard solos, concept album theme, etc - everything in the right place without being terrible exciting. Now, Luccassen's solo album `Lost in the New Real' was much better for me, and his own vocals were wonderful! One of my favourites from last year!
