This band seems to have been out of the news a bit of late, but as of April 29th this year they have had a new keyboard player, Howard Sinclair: http://www.alsoeden.com/index_main.php?id=20&prid=41" rel="nofollow - http://www.alsoeden.com/index_main.php?id=20&prid=41

Howard Sinclair Joins The Crew

Six months is a long time on the good ship Also Eden. The band have played some of the best attended gigs of their ten-year career, to excellent reviews, taken on Andy Davies as producer and moved close to completing the forthcoming album, [REDACTED], whilst replacing bassist Steve "Bruiser" Dunn with Graham Lane and waving off founding keys maestro Ian Hodson. Finding a replacement for Ian was never going to be easy but that, in itself, gave rise to some radical thoughts about the future shape of the band, involving pedals, guitar synths and more. This forward-looking approach has resulted in the arrival on board of Howard "H" Sinclair.

Howard is well known as a solo artist, having supported Panic Room and others and being particularly prolific on the Bristol scene. He's opened up for Also Eden before now, also appearing on the same bill as vocalist Rich Harding and guitarist Si Rogers, in their acoustic guise of Neo Deals, including at the Assorted Acoustic Afternoon in December 2010, when Rich was still in a wheelchair following his horrific motorcycle accident. Concidentally, a year earlier Howard had been playing keyboards in another band for whom Rich auditioned before joining Also Eden.

The new line-up's first two gigs will be with F2 labelmates Manning, at The Robin 2, Bilston on Sunday, June 9th and The Met, Bury on Saturday, July 6th. Neo Deals are opening up for Red Jasper and Crimson Sky at The Fleece, Bristol on June 27th.

Howard says, "I'm both delighted and excited to have the opportunity to join a band I have held in high esteem since I first saw them live a few years ago. Their recent performance at HRH Prog Festival was one of the outstanding moments of the weekend and confirmed my desire to be a part of the evolving sound that Si, Rich, Graham and Lee are developing for the forthcoming album."

Rich says, "We've spoken to dozens of keyboard players, auditioned a couple, scared off a few more and seriously considered continuing as a four-piece - next to my guitar for a while now have been a Korg Triton LE and Roland MIDI pedals. After seeing us at HRH, Howard texted me and asked to try out; it went well and, as a result, a whole new world of possibilities has opened up for the band."

[REDACTED]

The band's forthcoming album, entitled [REDACTED], was originally due out due out in May - but more details soon. Original artwork has been commissioned from friend of the band Neil McChrystal and the first piece, "Shock", was used to create the "virtual" cover for a free download of 'Endless Silence'. The Art Director for the project overall is Graeme Bell, who created the excellent artwork for the 'Differences As Light' EP. If there's enough demand, a lovely vinyl package will also be created, which will really showcase Neil's great work.
