The 'Astrionics' cassette was our debut recording- a tour cassette and demo, recorded by Nathan Q Moore live in our rehearsal space. We hit the road for about 45 days, just two months after the band got together, and cut these tracks right before we left.

We recorded new versions of most of these tracks at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn with Jason LaFarge (Swans, Khanate, Angels of Light, Child Abuse) for our forthcoming full length release.

Hyrrokkin is an avant rock trio from Yellow Springs, OH. Influenced by the methods and spirit of jazz, the tones and textures of... new music, and the electric backbone of rock, the group manages to find unifying features across disparate genre lines, and create something challenging and refreshing in the process.

http://www.facebook.com/hyrrokkinband , from where this is taken:

"Formed in June of 2011, and named for one Saturn's moons, Hyrrokkin are a hungry group with boundless energy, and a knack for navigating off-kilter, polyrhythmic, stagger-step arrangements that remain remarkably accessible.

The radical sound of the group reflects the cumulative musical experiences of the three musicians involved. Brett Nagafuchi (drums) and Paul Larkowski (guitar + bass) were bot...h members of Kuan, an avant-punk band from Dayton, OH. Edward Ricart (guitar + bass) has been a prolific member of the improvised music community, working alongside members of Fugazi, Pinback, Bardo Pond, the Rollins Band, Acid Mothers Temple, and Tortoise, as well as free-jazzers Peter Brotzmann, William Hooker, and Marshall Allen (of the Sun Ra Arkestra), among many others.

Hyrrokkin recorded their cassette debut, Astrionics, less than two months after forming the band, and shortly thereafter, embarked on a six-week tour of North America. Astrionics has sold several hundred copies, and is presently in its fourth pressing. The group has shared the stage with Mick Barr, Many Arms, and has played several dates with guitar legend Greg Ginn.

In November of 2012, Hyrrokkin recorded and mixed their debut full length with Jason LaFarge (Swans, Akron/Family, Khanate, Devendra Banhart) at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn. Bob Weston will be mastering the record on January 31st at Chicago Mastering Service."

I reckon RIO/Avant should have first option.
