I was hoping Anathema would come to the states. I can't wait to see them live, but I'll just keep waiting, apparently. No show closer to Florida than Virginia, too far to drive. This is something I've noticed since moving to Florida. No Euro or UK prog bands play anywhere in the south when they come over. Only exception is Steve Wilson/Porcupine Tree. He hits either Orlando or Tampa (sometimes both) every time he's come over. Everyone else doesn't get any closer than maybe Nashville/Baltimore/DC and that's too far for a one day trip. Discouraging to say the least.

It will be very tempting to check them out in Toronto, i'd love to see them live.

I'll probably snag some tickets for that too if they're that cheap. Lotta good bands coming through here for once! Are you going to see Hawkwind that next month?

Haven't decided on Hawkwind.  I have only their latest album.  Might pick up the WOTEOT and go.  Kind of want to see the opening band, Perhaps.

Other local shows I know of are:
- Intronaut w/ Scale The Summit (hmm, July 3; guess I missed that one!)
- Goblin w/ Secret Chiefs 3 (Oct 15)

I'm curious about Goblin, but not familiar with their music.  SC3 doesn't impress me at all.  So as much as I want to support local prog shows I'm not sure I can justify that one.

Damn, that Intronaut tour came through? Can't believe I missed it. As for Goblin, I'm not into their brand of RPI, while SC3 is just... crazy. Not my cup of tea. Colorado's got a nice host of local stuff coming through that I'm scoring tickets for like

Brit Floyd: World's Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute (8/2 at Red Rocks)
Queens of the Stone Age + Gogol Bordello (8/15 at Red Rocks)
Vista Chino (9/16 at Summit)
Anathema & Hawkwind as mentioned earlier
Tame Impala (10/26 @ Boulder, 10/27 @ Ogden)

I need a better job.

I just have a feeling that Alcest will impress more people as Anathema live did not say much to me (or maybe I just got them touring on the wrong album)

Anathema isn't that special - that's why.

I saw Anathema last year on a moored boat on the Danube in Budapest and it was simply jaw-dropping! The power and emotion were indescribable. There is a DVD out soon called Universal which reflects that tour!
Amazing concert, it will change your mind about Anathema , as it did for me....Embarrassed

Saw Anathema last year supporting Opeth. They only had c 45 mins. But they produced a storming set.

Strongly recommend seeing them live.

Such a pity Alcest is not coming to Mexico City, but well, I will witness an Anathema show once again.
