Combine the piano and sound experimentation of RYUICHI SAKAMOTO with the cross-genre, cross-media musical experimentation of TOBY DRIVER with the sounds, singing and humour of DEVIN TOWNSEND (especially Terria and Ziltoid) and throw in a little of TODD RUNDGREN's humour, theatrics and even vocal stylings (especially his Utopia catalogue as well as A Wizard/A True Star) and you've got THE GABRIEL CONSTRUCT's amazing new album, Interior City. Reading the young man's bio, blog and reviews I can only predict that the future is VERY BRIGHT for this eclectic composer--especially if he continues to write such amazingly adventurous music as this--and if he continues to find/hire such astoundingly talented musicians for his band/recordings as this. I mean, drummer TRAVIS ORBIN is a name you want to remember cuz this guy is uber-talented--with one of the best innate senses of timing and rhythm I've ever heard on record. And the bass player is also noteworthy, not to mention Gabriel Ricci's way with a piano and his amazing multi-layered vocal stylings. This band is a must for PA--unless you're afraid that he'll take over the #1 spot from Close To the Edge (cuz he might!) He may be one of THE BRIGHTEST STARS of the future of progressive rock!!!

Nevermind. I was suggested them five months ago for the Crossover section because I heard alt.rock elements in their music.

prog metal environment? IMO it's not fit. Eclectic or crossover or even RIO/avant as he himself suggested (in another thread)will do.
For me he reminds mostly John Cale, in piano and vocals. But very much of his own of course.
