"Upon initial listening session with El Paraiso Records latest band signing Psicomagia and their self titled debut album, there is no question this band has officially passed the progressive rock torch. Landing in the era of 1968 - 1970 when Soft Machine, Magma, The Miles Davis Group, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Tony Williams Lifetime and many other were innovating the foundation basis to the 70's rich fusion movements, Psicomagia bleeds with the heart wrenching layers of amplified progressive psychedelia. Wave blasting movements burst  from the keys and synth of Tyler Daughn, finding a harmonic state of bliss with the addition of exploatatory sax lines from multi-instrumentalist and band-leader Brian Ellis. The rhythm section consist of Radio Moscow's highly technical and soulful drummer Paul Marrone along with the very active and just soulful bass work of Trevot Mast, this music is founded out by the poetic musings of Bernard Nunez and Daniell Gutterez for an odyssey that you have to experience to believe"

Good stuff for me is this...  Approve

You can't see an awful lot in this next vid of the band playing live due to the lack of any lighting other than the projections at the rear of the stage, but the sound is reasonably listenable:

And a couple more of them in action:

Thumbs Up

Was moved to the 'discuss' section of the psych/space chart nine days ago, Sve. Use the 'recent changes' link to check progress on progfreak rather than the psych/space specific one given previously: http://progfreak.com/Psicomagia-157739.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Psicomagia-157739.html?path=pa/recent . The 'discuss' icon is shown in the psych/space chart, but it isn't obvious what the icon actually means unless you look it up in the legend on the right hand side of the page (or hover over it). The recent changes chart actually states the word 'discuss' quite clearly at the top of the list. Any subsequent 'moves' to other teams that use progfreak will also show up in this chart far more clearly than in the 'psych/space only' chart. Thumbs Up

^ Thank you Tuzvihar

It is strange that the band is not in the PA' Psych / Space section, though.

Even stranger still is that there is now no PA section at all for this band on progfreak. Confused  Damox added them 5 months ago, and there was definitely a Psych/Space chart for them before...but now nothing!! Very mysterious!  http://www.sherv.net/" rel="nofollow">

^I forwarded them to the jazzy cats, Dave, and subsequently added themWink
I hear a lot of Soft Machine trades in this band, so fusion isn't that far of a stretch. There are loads of psychedelically drenched acts on PA who reside in the fusion quarters as well.

Yeah, I don't see a problem with where they were added...but how have the PA progfreak entries for the band suddenly disappeared? Normally they remain indefinitely, with every vote, move, cleared, new, added, discuss, removed or whatever entry recorded in sequence. For this band there is nowt...If you click on the link which used to reveal the chart: http://progfreak.com/Psicomagia-157739.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Psicomagia-157739.html?path=pa/recent , all you get is 'no tab found' and in the overview there is no PA link to the right of the discography tab anymore.  Confused

Just try the link once more, works for me, probably temporarly out of order only?
btw I absolutely do support the addition of Psicomagia to the jazz fusion department, it's the best place imho Smile

No, Uwe - still 'no tab found'. Tried it again in IE9 and Google Chrome, logged into progfreak and not logged in - and no PA section seems to exist for them any more. All other progfreak links I tried have the PA links and charts just as normal. It's just this one which seems to have vanished off the face of the earth (for me at least!) Ermm

^the link only works with login state, and for me both in Internet Explorer and Firefox
then you probably should try to delete your progfreak cookie(s)

I was thinking about you this December when I got my copy of this. Should be right up your alley methinks. Sorta like Soft Machine doing KrautrockBig smile
Also my pick for AOTY 2013 with Fire! Orchestra close behind.
