I suggest the best unknown guitarist I ever heard. Benny Jansson is briliant technical guitar player with wide open scales and great compositional skills. The debut Virtual Humanity is fantastic instrumental jazz-rock/fusion, i think this is his best work, but the next two studio albums is also very good. His music has also progressive metal edge.

Biography

''Swedish guitar sensation'' is the quote from the Swedish daily newspaper Aftonbladet. The year is 1992 and Benny Jansson has just released his first album ''When Sanity Is Acting Kind Of Wild'', with the band Two Rocks. The album receives great reviews from both the Swedish and English music critics and Benny is compared favorably with guitar heroes such as Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum, and Kee Marcello to name a few.

Benny has also works as a studio musicians for artists including Anders and Jens Johansson from Yngwie Malmsteen band, Erika (Yngwie Malmsteen ex wife), Svullo, Dave Nerge, Snakecharmer to name but a few. Two songs in the movie ''Sökarna'' are also the work of Benny.

After many years of devotion to the swedish hard rock scene, Benny released his first solo album in 1995, ''Virtual Humanity'' did not go unnoticed by the Swedish press. Benny is described as an unbelievably skilled guitarist with total control over the instrument. This time Benny is compared to guitar legends such as Allan Holdsworth, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola, Steve Vai, all having been source of inspiration for Benny and his music.

Benny released his second solo album in 1999, ''Flume Ride'', the album receives great reviews from all over the world. In 2002 he released third album Save The World with guest vocals of Göran Edman. After that he joined progressive metal group Xsavior with Göran Edman as a main singer.

If you want to use the windows-installed spotify player rather than the web version then just substitute http://open/" rel="nofollow - http://open instead of https://play/" rel="nofollow - https://play in the above links.

We already have http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3309" rel="nofollow - XSAVIOR on here, which was the band that followed on from Benny's third solo album 'Save The World'. Smile

He was previously in the Swedish hard rock/metal bands TEARS OF ANGER, RIDE THE SKY and MINDCRIME...amongst others!
