Hey again guys,

I was looking to suggest a Japanese band called STELLA LEE JONES for the jazz/rock/fusion genre. That’s a band name, by the way, not a person – very confusing, and I’m not sure what the story is there! Anyway, they released their debut album in 2011 called `A Floating Place’, and as you can see from the live clips below, they are similar in parts to bands like Asturias (two members here also played on their amazing album `Electric Asturias – Fractals), PTF or Forgas Band Phenomena. Their sound is entirely instrumental, frequently violin driven jazz/fusion, but the studio album also revealed a European folk sound worked in too, mostly because of the use of accordion, quite distinctive.

The musicians are:

- Satoshi Hirata / guitar
- Tei Sena / violin
- Shinya Sato / Piano, keyboards
- Emi Sasaki / accordion
- Naoyuki Seto / bass
- Tomoyuki Tanimoto / drums
- Genta Kudoh / percussion

The album `A Floating Place’ has the following tracks:

1. Synapse (5:35)
2. Parallel Railways (4:23)
3. Memai (7:27)
4. Jean Pierre (3:11)
5. Ceaseless Memory (8:06)
6. Watercolours (4:56)
7. Clouds (8:15)
8. X-Zone (2:32)
9. Kagerou (8:51)
10. Stella Lee Jones (8:09)

Their website can be found here – http://www.stellaleejones.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.stellaleejones.com/

Some clips from the band:

Parallel Railways:

To the team that evaluates the band, if you would rather I upload the proper studio album via Sendspace, please contact me by private message and I can arrange something for you.

Thanks for your time, and thanks again for Yam Yam/David’s assistance!

Michael.

No harm done here at all, Michael. It's one thing posting suggestions directly in the team threads in the collab zone to speed up the evaluation process - but that means the great mass of PA members who don't have access to that area of the site don't get introduced to these new bands at all. Disapprove

Even when I was able to access the collab zone directly myself as a member of the Crossover team, I ALWAYS made a thread in the public forum for any new bands/artists I stumbled upon. You did the right thing, my friend...and I would have done exactly the same! Approve

But thanks to Keishiro for putting us straight on this one. I would never have thought of doing a search in Eclectic's thread for these guys either! LOL

Thanks, David! Yes, I don't make a habit of `snooping' in the other groups lands, so I didn't even think to look there!

No harm done, at least it gives others a chance to find out about the band and give those clips a spin!

I'll get that Altablanca suggestion done in the next two days as well!
