Going with ConiunctioHeart I love that Zappa album though, but over the past couple of years I've been getting more and more into Coniunctio. Tumultuous jazz rock cooked up by two marvellous bands at the peak of their powers.

I've never been that keen on the Italian offering. It reminds me of a lot of the new kids on the block's attempts at making symphonic prog with added reserved Andy Latimer vocals. This one is just in ItalianTongue

The only thing I really love about Hot Rats is Willie the Pimp.  Haven't heard the other 2 though.

The first round of the Rio/Avant/RPI/Jazz polls are over, so this second round is all the winners from that round including ties. Three per poll and only the winners and ties move on in round two.

I gotta say i'm so impressed with you guys on PA, during the first round I voted for Coniunctio and was really surprised it tied for first with SMM's "Maltid" with 8 votes each. Not that it didn't deserve all the votes of course, I was just surprised at how many people were aware of this amazing album. Thanks for the feedback.

Such a solid album from the first song to the last. Both Sugarcane Harris and Jean-Luc Ponty help out with violin and of course Captain Beefheart himself on vocals is worth the price of admission alone.

I thought you would pick Coniunctio David. It still blows what's left of my mind to think of two amazing bands like Jazz Q and Blue Effect getting together and making something so uncommercial. This is experimental stuff played by gunslingers. Timultuous indeed.

It's pretty clear that Locanda Delle Fate's album is loved or disliked by the majority. Not many in the middle it seems. Love the cover art and the album myself but I can appreciate the opinion of those who aren't big fans of it.

I use to listen to that album a lot while driving my bike and I always 'woke up' few miles further down the road not even knowing how did I get there. Totally krautrockishe with a hard rock edge. Experimental and weird to the bone. Simply amazing album. Love at first listen.

I love hearing stuff like this. I remember that happening to me with a Mythos album for some reason and it also had an affect on my daughter who was with me as we arrived at our destination and just sat there for several minutes just listening to the music. That was so unlike her. Usually she'd be out of the vehicle as soon as I put it in park.LOL

Proof of what I was sayin' about that album, some adore it and other slam it. Of course there's many who are inbetween but I think it's very good, and I mentioned before that Gnosis rated it as the 14th best album to come out of Italy. All a matter of taste as usual.Big smile Thanks Thomas !

Locanda Delle Fate for me. Never been a Zappa fan, and I don't know the other one. The Italian opus is simply lovely, and beautifully lyrical.
