Mixing math metal with electronic influences and dubstep (bit of jazz for good measure, too), the Algorithm is quite the listen.

Quite surprised I didn't already find the Algorithm on here, but better late than never Big smile

Last.fm:

ToulouseFrance (2009 – present)

Rémi Gallego, aka The Algorithm, is an electronic music composer from Toulouse, France.

The Algorithm’s style - often called ‘Mindf**k’ - blends many subgenres of electronic music with mathcore, forming a unique and fast-paced sound.

After Rémi Gallego’s former band Dying Breath disbanded, he decided in 2009 to look for potential members for a new band that would focus more on mathcore, inspired by the band The Dillinger Escape Plan. After a futile search for new members, Gallego began with his guitar and a digital audio workstation to produce his own music.

In December 2009 and July 2010, he released two demo tapes, The Doppler Effect and CRITICAL.ERROR, which were released on his website for free download. In November 2012 he released Polymorphic Code through Basick Records, the first full album to be released under The Algorithm’s name.

Confused you know what is it bro?I've seen somewhere that guys say e.g. X band hasn't the quality of a band cuz it's all repetition of other bands and they haven't got a new sound, but when a band does it like The Algorithm they are not well accepted, like here

It's not about how good/bad X band is. It's about whether or not the band in question is progSmile Trust me, I've been a member of two teams in the past and have voted yes to countless of bands that sounded absolutely dreadful......but they were prog and deserved to be here.

I love Animal Collective, and they're about as experimental and progressive as you can get........but not prog.
I have a huge bulk of modern progressive music in my collection that isn't prog either.
