Woolfson had the best sounding voice for the APP sound. Zakatek had a few goodies along the way....One More River being his best imo.

"Games People Play" is worth a mention too.

Hmmm....always though that APP was prog lite. Some decent radio tracks here and there but nothing to write home about. I do like both Woolfson and Blunstone's vocals.

Really like Alan Parsons, not so prog, but great sound and music. For me Eric Woolfson always was and will be the voice of Alan Parsons Project, very original voice and fitting very well all the time. Today I was listening Freudiana (the song) and how good it is.

About the others, I like Chris Rainbow for example (at this time I'm remembering Turn of a friendly card and Days are numbers). He was the singer on the stunning Camel ballad Long Goodbyes from Stationary Traveller.

Gary Brooker from Procol Harum did a superb job in the song Limelight too.

I'm surprised Eric Woolfson is winning this poll. The songs he sings are very good, but I find his voice is the blandest of the singers.

I don't know all these vocalists that partook in the various Projects, but I know Lenny Zakatek gets a big from me !!!
Oh, probably go for Paton tbh.

Clare Torry.  Only there for a minute, but what a special minute it was.

I guess it must be Woolfson... he would be the closest to THE singer of the band, for I think he contributed the most vocals, plus he was actually an integral part of the band itself. And his vocals were actually very good and perfect for the songs. However, perhaps my favourite vocal performance from the band is Crhis Rainbow's on "Turn of a Friendly Card". A really beautiful performance. Oh, by the way, you missed Alan Parsons himself... I think he actually had vocal duties at least on "The Raven", using the vocoder. Though, surely, he wouldn't have got any votes, anyway.

Great bunch, Mr Woolfson (my vote for but NOT a vote against all the others, Chris Rainbow, Blunstone and Miles are all fine.

The new version of Eye In The Sky btw nearly makes a perfect symphonic rock album with the reprise of themes and extended piano numbers. Only nearly as the fine outtakes, had they been finished would put it in the perfect category. I know, very fussy. IOW well worth checking out... probbaly one of the best of this sort and more enjoyable than the extended I Robot. I mean in terms of related bonus cuts rather than the original album essence.

Not prog lite - but prog accessible. Concept albums, many performers and great writing make for a lot of interesting albums. The art of the melodic song and extended work is very prevalent among the APP.

Although he had his concerns about Pyramid competing with Dark Side on at least Pyramid terms.. it doesn't. Sorry Al, not even close to The Dark Side - the 3 star reviews on this site seem to get this album's assessment just right.

Was sort of into John Miles for a while. Quite liked his Rebel album from 1976. As a pop rock singer he was above average...and his guitar work wasn't bad either. Fairly talented lad Mr Miles but his songs could be a touch cheesy. BTW Barriemore Barlow played in Miles' band in the early 80s after he left Tull.

the song 'Music' is considered a classic by any standards. I always loved Highfly. Very typical mid seventies guitar sound Cool
