I've just noticed my post count is currently in the mid 1970s. Alas, I've missed 1972 which was a fine fine year for prog, but hey 1975 wasn't a bad year for prog either!

Yes, this thread is pointless. Yes, I am sorry.

'76, best summer in the UK I can recall. Belting hot weather, great cricket (for West Indian fans), I had shoulder length hair (not grey or falling out then ), just finished my 'o' levels, not a care in the world...

Sounds fantastic! Though, we've moved onto '77 now. Was that a good year too?

77 year of punk. Got ridiculed for long hair. Went to see sex pistols, got spat at and beaten up.Got mocked for still liking prog while all my mates cut their hair and embraced this crappy new music. Started life in work, all gone downhill since.

go back to 76, much better.

Indeed, I shall try to progress through it as quickly as possible! Once I reach the late 80s at least we'll have Ozric Tentacles by way of apology for rise of neo-prog.

As Eroc, the drummer of Grobschnitt, sang about the summer of '76 on his 2nd solo album:
"Der heisseste Sommer seit 100 Jahren
ist mir ganz schön in den Hintern gefahren"
(Translation: "The hottest summer of the last 100 years definitely went up my ass" )

it would be cool if in the future nothing but neo-prog, yes, kingcrimson, and celtic music was played.
