Was surprised this hasn't been included as it will be of interest to many! 'Abandoned Dancehall Dreams' is a new solo album from Tim Bowness long term collaborator with Steven Wilson in No-Man, as well as a member of Henry Fool. A large amount of the album was written for a further No-Man release, but it turned into a solo album. Guests include Pat Malsetto, Colin Edwin, Steven Wilson and the members of Henry Fool. Here's a note from burning shed (part run by Bowness!); 21 years after No-Man's debut and 10 years after Bowness's previous solo release My Hotel Year, Tim Bowness returns on the Inside Out label with his ambitious second solo album, Abandoned Dancehall Dreams. Produced by Bowness and mixed by his No-Man band partner Steven Wilson, the album features performances from Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Anna Phoebe (Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and members of the No-Man live band (Stephen Bennett, Michael Bearpark, Pete Morgan, Steven Wilson, Andrew Booker and Steve Bingham). Classical composer Andrew Keeling, best known for his work with The Hilliard Ensemble, Evelyn Glennie and his orchestrations of Robert Fripp's Soundscapes, provides string arrangements for four of the album's eight tracks. Distinctively combining Art Rock and singer-songwriter
influences, Abandoned Dancehall Dreams alternates between the low-key and the
large-scale, possessing the cinematic scope and sophisticated sheen of No-Man's
best work, while taking Bowness's music into unexpected areas, including the
propulsive drum and string chug of The Warm-Up Man Forever, the fretless bass,
synth and choir combinations on Dancing For You, the Nick Drake-esque
Waterfoot, and the grinding Rock codas to Smiler At 50 and I Fought Against The

I'm with you man,big time.in fact after NOT ADDING MEMORIES OF MACHINES as a band in here I came here at least to suggest Tim Bowness with his not few solo and collaboration albums. everything happens in here as fast as a snail speed

^I'm getting a bit tired of you Aziz.
You add nothing of value to this site - only posting when you get your panties in a twist because of some band who isn't included. What the hell do you care? You don't write reviews. You don't participate in the forums. Now you moan about the addition speed of an act who was suggested today 
We all do this in our spare time and nobody gets paid. When we then get hit with suggestion waves from certain folks (I'm not naming names, just by looking through the threads, it should be pretty obvious who this is), some acts simply fall through the cracks. Simple as that. Sometimes I wish people could see this place from the other side of the curtain, but then again that would mean giving you access to the collab zone, and I would quite frankly rather chew my own foot off than making people like yourself collab. ------------- “The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack.  Well said, some people need to do a count of the suggestions in the New Bands forum. Speaking as someone who used to be involved with New Bands, there is an awful lot of work to do to keep up with it.

well,I give up now,at least at attacking people you have a leopard's speed.about the review,I just care for site completion,I prefer putting just stars and not telling others what I feel about an album and I become disappointed when I see,for example,Riverside's 2007 album Rapid Eye Movement receiving the least stars possible but the last album which is ridiculous in comparison,beating more than 4 stars. (now you have my review about an album) I wonder sometimes what some of members think about here.many say:oh 3.51 stars so I put 3 stars...pffffff about getting moody soon,because I've suggested some bands that all of them are in hibernation,praying to be accepted soon... this site better to be sth like sputnikmusic.com,you add the band easily but then admins make sure about the truth of submition. I know nobody cares about my suggestions here,because snails don't have ears btw,feel free to fire me dude.I also didn't demand any salary I guess! Chopper,thanks for your logical reason

I haven't attacked you Aziz. Trust me if I do you'll know. If you read my post again, you'll see that I get irritated by people who do nothing but complain about PA instead of doing something constructive when they visit. Also, I am not part of any other team than the admin team, which effectively means that I have no hand in deciding whether a band gets through the looking glass (unless it's an act proposed to Prog Related by a collab). From what I can see, you've suggested two bands, where one of them already had been rejected. The other one was ShamRain where you didn't exactly suggest it, and I had to move it to the right part of the forum - plus you didn't offer up enough material to evaluate from. So yes, I perfectly understand why you don't receive any salary too. You don't make the effort worth of our collaborators time. If you prefer sputnikmusic.com, then by all means switch to that site. I'm sure they'll love you over there. We are a Prog site, which means we deal with Prog. The music has to be Prog before we include the band, and we have our own people doing the evaluation work - people who have shown their knowledge of the genre again and again, which is why we leave it up to them to decide whether an act should be here or not. Anyway, I'm not going to "fire" you - you were never hired to begin with buddy........but keep up this snail business of yours and I'll show you the door. You obviously didn't read my earlier response, because then you'd know just how many suggestions we're dealing with. | I haven't heard any Bowness 'solo' works per se, but I have a few of his collaborations with others and they are generally strong and enjoyable progressive albums. He possesses a distinct and unique identity which always adds plenty of character and class to what he puts his name to. |

There was even a racehorse called L'Escargot you know - a bloody good 'un he was too, I might add. There was another famous racehorse called Hoof-Hearted, who didn't have quite such a distinguished career as L'Escargot did, but he certainly gave the television commentators something to think about as they were describing the closing stages of his more successful races!
