Wow, that was a fast turnaround after the monster that was Hubardo. Not too keen on the sound of "electronic percussion" but we'll see how that one works out.

Pre-ordered the LP, can't wait for it to arrive! I couldn't wait any longer, so I'm streaming it now anyway. I love the new direction of this record.

I love the whole thing so far. 2 listens in and my favorite track so far is Offramp Cycle, Pattern 22. The grove with the atmospheric mono synth at the end is so incredible.

I'm not sure I'm on board yet, but I always give Kayo Dot plenty of chances to sink in, because it's always worth the effort.

Good stuff. I like this one way better than Hubardo, even though it has a rather strong 80's feel.

The last track is magnificent.

Excellent album. I'm a bit shocked he's written an album that doesn't make much use of dissonance and is still hugely engaging.

I'll take the unpopular view of saying...yikes.

Some good moments throughout (particular tracks 1 and 5) but overall not really a shining moment here. And things like the second and fourth song are just terrible.

Ironically I'll be able to buy this one and I don't know if I want to.

Really?? I respect the opinion (it's definitely an oddball album) but I have to totally disagree with you. I even think the second song is a highlight.

This comes quite near to what I would say about Hubardo.

It's pretty cool if you dig '80s post punk/darkwave kind of stuff, which has been growing on me recently.

Wow...I finally found a Kayo Dot album that really connects with me.
This sounds like David Sylvian and The Cure joining forces as a modern post punk band with some beautiful post rock touches.
I need a copy of this now, damn and I thought I was done with the 2014 releases for nowLOL

Btw if any you guys are looking for something similar in style, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Diagonal offshoot band Baron. One of the few modern acts to mix the desolate 80s with prog.
