Heh, at least they need to be added to the database somewhere, that's a sure thing. Even in this forum I can't think of anyone who would question that addition.

Good stuff indeed!! Thumbs Up

This is taken from the band's official website: http://www.heliopolisband.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.heliopolisband.com/ :

"Formed in Los Angeles in the summer of 2012, Heliopolis set out determined to celebrate the uplifting power of music. They began writing their debut album, City of the Sun, while simultaneously undertaking a string of acclaimed live performances where the band proved their viability and commitment to excellence onstage, wowing audiences with their energy, intensity, musicianship and songwriting.

Comprised of former members of acclaimed progressive rock acts Mars Hollow, Rocket Scientists, Ten Jinn, and Genesis tribute Gabble Ratchet, Heliopolis features veteran musicians Jerry Beller (drums and vocals), Matt Brown (keyboards and vocals), Kerry Chicoine (bass and vocals), Mike Matier (guitars), and Scott Jones (vocals). Together they form a forward-thinking musical collective on a mission to deliver the very best in contemporary progressive rock music paired with an ultimately optimistic message.

"These days there seems to be a disproportionate emphasis on darkness," says bassist Kerry Chicoine. "We find exploring the balance between despair and optimism a more challenging and creatively satisfying approach."

Heliopolis compose intricately detailed long-form songs based on memorable melodies, 4-part vocal harmonies, outstanding musicianship and thought-provoking lyrical subject matter, delivered by five musician friends who share a commitment to passion, sincerity, and integrity."

Symphonic sounds like a decent place to start the evaluation off to me too.

Please don't take this personally & offensively Ivan, BECAUSE IT'S NOT, but for us who don't have a collab rank and never will as it is in my case as well, and consenquently we don't have access to the collab zone, it's a very important thing that a great suggestion, as this Windhawk's suggestion as well, that to be post in the public PA forum also.

You don't have it, but the starter of the thread has it.

When the suggestions are posted into collab zone only, those of us who do not have access to collab zone, we remain deprived of an information about the new band.
So many thanks to Windhawk who always posted his fantastic suggestions in PA public forum also.

Oh, I am sorry.
Somehow, I wrongly assumed that you and the members of your team very often visit 'Suggest New Bands And Artists' sub-forum.

We do, that's why I found this thread the same day it was suggested.

But the Collaborators have a thread for this purpose.

Heliopolis has been preemptively accepted to assure their inclusion.

Will send them to Eclectic and if rejected, they will be added to Symphonic.

Being that we have no official  reply from Eclectic for Heliopolis (I know they have a lot of work)...And having no objections they will be added to Symphonic.

If Eclectic decides that the band is better there......We will accept the move.

The band will be added in the next days

So far I was the only one to check it out in our team and I voted No. I think it fits best in Symphonic.
