5 stars Was April not the first ever group & orchestra collabaration. When will Deep Purple ever get the credit for being one of the first ever 'Progressive Rock' bands as they were called in the 70's. Everyone calls it 'prog rock' now but that never existed back in the 70's - all that existed then was 'Progressive' - think ELP, Yes etc & Progressive Rock of which Purple were the finest exponents.

They were brilliant in this formation even before the thoughts of Gillan & Glover, this album set the standards for orchestra collaboration which Purple themselves continued with Concerto & as such should be one of the higlights of any 'prog' fans collection.
