4 stars This is the second of four sampler albums released by Think Tank Media, the music label run by keyboard wizard Erik Norlander and vocalist Lana Lane. Aside from one track by Mark McCrite (who is a member of the Rocket Scientists) the album consists entirely of tracks from the albums of Lana Lane, Erik Norlander, and his band The Rocket Scientists. This album provides an excellent introduction to the symphonic prog sound provided by these artists. I am familiar with these artists more current catalogue and recently purchased their first 3 sampler albums to get a taste of their older material. After listening to these samples I am definitely interested in pursuing the remainder of their catalogue. This album can be purchased directly from the artist's website at an extremely reasonable price. If you are a fan of symphonic prog then I highly recommend that you check out this sampler album because I believe that you will be pleasantly surprised and that it will lead to additional purchases to add to your collection. Erik Norlander is a keyboardist extraordinaire and his music is also highly recommended to fans of Rick Wakeman. A lot of the music that I have heard from Erik is the music that I wish that Rick Wakeman had continued to make.

If you like female vocals with your progressive rock music then her music would be an excellent addition to your prog rock collection. I have read items where her voice has been compared to Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson. I might also compare her voice somewhat to Candace Night from Blackmore's Night.

This sampler album is sort of a prog fan's dream. The first 4 tracks clock in at 14, 16, 12, and 11 minutes, and all are excellent symphonic songs.

I believe that this is an excellent addition to any prog music collection because it is one that I definitely enjoy on its own, but it also is an album which will lead me to explore even more progressive rock music and except for the damage it does to the wallet that is always a plus.
