2 stars From this late 70's/ early 80's arty techno-pop band - featuring the famous cute male blonde of the time, DAVID SYLVIAN - a DVD release of any kind is a rare thing to be happy about if you're a fan, but I'm not very satisfied with my 10 euros investment. Promo videos (especially from the early years) look rather cheapie, and only the Erik Satie -inspired 'Night Porter' is a pleasure that one doesn't get bored to hear. The concert section 'Oil On Canvas' doesn't have all tracks that the CD of the same name has. And considered that the visual quality is quite blurry, the Oil On canvas CD remains more recommendable than this DVD. Several tracks - 'Cantonese Boy', 'Visions of China' and 'Canton' - are accompanied with Chinese visual material, as one might expect. If I see right, Ryuchi SAKAMOTO is featured here. Bassist Mick KARN does some funny mini steps during the show. I bet DURAN DURAN was influenced by JAPAN, both musdically and visually.
