3 stars Acoustic Wishbone Ash? Yeah! This should be a splendid record! Well, not that much...

Let's see why, track-by-track:

Wings Of Desire: A very nice, worm feeling from this one. I like it better than the original.

Errors Of My Way: Close to the original, but I like the original better.

Master Of Disguise: An OK cover, but not so special. I liked the rich sounds of the original better.

You Won't Take Me Down: New song, of a totally mainstream approach. Nothing fancy.

Love Abuse: New song, much more interesting than the previous. The harmonica work is very good, and the female back vocals add something different. A blues/country love song that is probably the best from the new ones!

(Won't You Give Him) One More Chance: This is a Solomon Burke cover, a song that has been covered by many over the years. This version is close to the sound of The Beatles, a nostalgic song!

Baby Don't Mind: The last new song, this time with a southern rock approach. It could easily be written by Lynyrd Skynyrd, lyrically too. It follows a simple form, nice song but nothing special.

Living Proof: I never liked the original very much, I always thought it's catchy but not actually THAT good. The chorus screams "sing-along" though, so I get why they play it so often live. This version is a toned-down acoustic, which exposes that fact: it's not as a quality composition as other WA classics.

Hard Times: What was so special about this song in it's original form to make them choose it? I don't know. In this version it sounds ordinary, just like the original.

Strange Affair: I don't like the eccentric riff of the original, and I was curious to find out if it worked better as an acoustic piece. Gladly, it did. I find it much better than the original.

Everybody Needs A Friend: What a gentle song, so wonderful sound and heartfelt lyrics... By far the best song of the album, and the electric guitar solo at the end is welcome.

RATING: It had the potential to be a 4 stars album, but the songs selection is poor. Why didn't they picked classics that everyone would like to listen in an acoustic version? Three songs from Strange Affair? THREE? Come on, there are so many songs that could become brilliant acoustic pieces! Also, out of the new songs, two are good and two are mediocre. It has to be 3 stars.
