2 stars Wow, this is too much. I like over the top stuff, whether it be music or movies or any other form of entertainment. I also find King Arthur a very interesting subject, too. On first glance, I thought this would be an album I would like: an over-the-top composition about King Arthur and his folktales done by the genius himself, Rick Wakeman. I also happened to love his previous album, Six Wives of Henry VIII, so I thought this would also be an amazing album. If you can't tell from my rating, it turns out I was wrong. Everything has a limit, even prog. C'mon, really? Medieval-sounding choruses and songs that are cheesier than Meatloaf's material? I have to admit that I liked some songs on here (Guinevere and Arthur were good) and the other songs had some interesting material within them too, but other than that, this album is just too much. Of course, what was even worse was that he did this cheesy album ON ICE! Some people complain that Tales of Topographic Oceans from Yes is worse at being pretentious and over the top, but I think this takes the cake.
