4 stars After being introduced to Beardfish with their previous release Sleeping in Traffic: Part 1, I was really looking forward to Part 2. This release did not disappoint, it possibly exceeded Part 1, but in a different way. Part 2 seems more eclectic, more out there, more broad, more experimental, more funky, more everything...and that's what makes this album a very good release. It did take me quite a few listens to really grasp everything that is going on, especially with their 30 minute plus epic. In fact, it may be too soon for me to review this one. I could have easily taken in about 10 more spins before trying to formulate an overall opinion. But this I do know....so far this is the best release of 2008 for me and it is easily worthy of 4 stars....If new to Beardfish, I suggest get these 2 releases in order. They have successfully created their own brand of prog music, combing a vintage 70's sound with a more modern sound at the same time. The only other band that I can think of that relates to this style might be Black Bonzo, but they are still quite different. If you like something different and challenging, this would be a fine choice...4 stars and a job well done! May prog be with you.....
