5 stars Wow!! What a giant step forward for PENDRAGON.

From the start you are left in no doubt that this is fresh, dynamic and exceptional. Extremely well crafted and delivered with aplomb. In my opinion this is arguably their best release and additionally a very serious contender for album of the year.

If it can be split in any way the three strongest tracks are INDIGO, ERASERHEAD and FREAKSHOW, here the listener is drawn into a spellbinding pastiche of sound, a much heavier overall feel added to PENDRAGON's sound. COMATOSE (in three separate parts), is quite disturbing, the lyrics attempt to convey some of the anguish of life, and explores a possible route of an angry individual; the final stark line of the second part is hard to swallow though, pehaps, due to the present climate on gun crime.

FREAKSHOW returns the listener to a much heavier feel and more of Mr. Barratts soaring guitar work. The final piece IT'S ONLY ME is quite a gentle track, quite different to what has preceded it, initially I felt this was an odd way to end the album, but after countless listens I have accepted its place, a sort of calm after the storm.

Having been a quiet year for the Prog scene this album, in my opinion, stands some head and shoulders above the rest. Certainly for some time to come, for me, this album will reached for again and again.
