4 stars "A Cycle Never Ending" is the second album by The Ben Cameron Project. It was recorded in London, UK in the summer of 2016 and self-released in the same year. For the recording sessions Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Cameron (lead and backing vocals, electric and acoustic guitar, percussion) gathered around him a line up featuring Filippo Galli (drums), Peter Bakaja (bass), Norbert Varga (keyboards), BJ Cole (pedal steel guitar) and Charlotte Jaffer (cello) who helped to enrich the musical palette. The result is a good mix of old and new influences ranging from artists such as Mike Oldfield or Pink Floyd to Steven Wilson while the overall sound quality is improved if compared to the previous work. All along the album melancholic, hypnotic atmospheres alternate with sudden bursts of energy, soft acoustic passages with frenzied keyboard rides conjuring up illusions and dancing demons, fanciful colours to paint the sky above and never ending open roads leading beyond the setting sun... The music steadily flows avoiding the whirlpools of boredom from the beginning to the end with some remarkable passages.

On the whole, a very good work as suggested before by fellow reviewer Finnforest!
