5 stars Not many progressive rock albums achieve perfection. "Mind Vol I" does, bigtime. All the next albums by this remarkable Swedish group have not come close, except maybe "Vol II" which is way too long for its sake.

Combining amazing sonic quality with fantastic melodies and exquisite playing from all members, a huge Zappa influence with European elegance - Mind Vol I is a power journey through memory, music and time.

This instrumental album has all the great qualities of modern progressive rock: eclecticism, variety, theme development, wide dynamic range, great solos and well-built structure.

The end result is one of the best prog-rock albums of the 1990's. A highly recommended purchase, not for the original package but for the crystal-clear mix and master.

I rarely give 5 stars to an album. "Mind Vol I" truly deserves it. Compared to any other Isildur's Bane album - this is their best so far.
