4 stars To me this is the best Eloy has to offer and is also one of the ebst symphonic spaceprogrock albums ever made.

I never really understood the story/concept of the record, but it has something supernatural. Maybe the beautiful artwork helps with that. I like the inclusion of choirs and orchestra, wich Eloy will continu to use on later records.

The bandmembers are mostly new members, resulting into the 'classic' lineup: Bornemann/Matziol/Rosenthal/Schmidtchen. They sound energetic and hungry. They know what they can do, but always play in favor of the music. There's not a single moment in this album where the band is overdoiing themselves. Rosenthal is a less heavy drummer than Randow but is more versatile and playful. The same goes for Schmidtchen; he's not an organ-guy like Wieczorke, and plays more synths and a wide variety of other keyboards. The bassplaying of Matze has always been one of the best in rock-history. Here he's rather in the background. His really upfront melodic bassplaying can be heard better on Ocean and so on.

I can highly recommend this album to all spacerock-fans but all prog-fans should listen to this gem.
