LIVE AT POMPEII (THE DIRECTOR'S CUT)

Interesting film captures of some live performances from Italian ruins on this one certainly. I have seen the original 1971 release, and only some scenes from the new 2003 version. My own absolute favorite is "Careful with That Axe Eugene", where the chaotic potential of this track reaches its maximum heights. Also the epic "Echoes" gets a pleasant treatment here, revealing the visual appearance of the guys doing their stuff on heydays of the band. I would recommend this more to the fans of earlier Floyd, as those who like only the material from "Dark Side of The Moon" production era may find these earlier experimental tracks with the ghost of Syd Barrett haunting behind a bit weird. At least their expressionism is not yet been polished to the sterile sonic architecture found from "Dark Side of The Moon", but revels yet on more trashy impressionistic rock levels.
