4 stars "Salisbury" is a great improvement on Uriah Heep's self-titled debut album. On this album the classical and jazz inspirations come to the fore as well as heavy metal. The album opens with the Queen-like vocal harmonies "Bird of Pray" and ends with the 16-minute brass section dominated title-track and in between there are jazzy songs that sounds quite a bit like Yes' two first albums. Deep Purple's three frist albums also comes to mind while listening to "Salisbury" This is perhaps also the most progressive of all Uriah Heep albums. Higly recommended in addition to "The Magician's Birthday", "Demons and Wizards", "Look at Yourself" and "Wonderworld"
