4 stars Second studio effort by Krautrock pioneers, and surprisingly, a compilation of soundtracks, which we are not accustomed to see much from prog bands.

This one is rather "patchy", collecting music from five different movies, and features 2 different vocalists. Even the difference between the directions the band took with Mooney and Suzuki is evident from the songs here.

One connection that holds the album together is the "moody blue" atmosphere. 2 tracks are later featured in Anthology compilation, Mother Sky (in a very short edited version) and She Brings the Rain. Tango Whiskeyman is the 3rd track which was later re-emerged, albeit in a remixed for in the awful Sacrilege album. So we have at least 3 classics here.

Despite the unintegrated structure of the album, the individual tracks are perfect, so is Mother Sky, which continues the Can tradition to feature a long, improvised track in the albums. Even those who are not into Krautrock will not regret.
