5 stars Camel managed to do what Yes has been trying in the last 15 years:make an album of ortodox Symphonic Progressive that may be compared, without any doubt, to the "classic era" of the band. A Nod and a Wink is notably different from Camelīs early albums; however, it has a very Camel-esque musicianship. A nod and a wink has a very beautiful beggining, though sometimes I donīt have pacience to hear it, itīs too low... The flute is amazingly calm. Simple Pleasures is a more pop song, with a chorus that some purists will hate... I like it very much, the lyrics are good, too.The guitar reminds me Santana. A boyīs life is tipical Camel, and Latimer shows us, once more, that he is one of the guitarrists that express more sentiments with his solos. Fox Hill is my favourite... It has a short and excellent drum solo, a part with acoustica guitar that is inspired by Genesis, that is just PERFECT! The lyrics are funny and good. The keyboard is at its best, together with For Today. Iīll skip 2 songs, because Iīve gotta go... For today is another beautiful track, with relaxing moments. Andy Latimer showed us that he could make a masterpiece without Pete Bardens(who, maybe some donīt know, is dead). Conclusion: Buy it.
