SAFE AS MILK

3.5 stars really!! Debut record for one of the freakiest artiste to have graced vinyls slice of music since.. Well, since recorded music existed. This weird character was a school-buddy of the "Freak par excellence" Zappa (can you imagine those two in the same classroom let alone in the same county or state? ;-) As my buddy Joren points out, this record may not sound like that much today, but back then, this was mega-groundbreaking stuff.

Just like all Beefheart albums, this is not an immediate pleaser (unless you heard it back then), but repeated listening can only reap you many harvests of pleasures.
