3 stars Here is the single and perhaps the one that began it all for many fans. Even non fans would have heard this radio botherer. All school children revered its attack on teachers. "We don't need no education..." was the anthem of the British anarchy, and now as a teacher myself I cringe at the lyrics, though I can relate to it totally, including my own kind of 'dark sarcasm in the classroom'. It is a great melodic song and the Dm guitar rhythm is wonderful.

The flip side is One of My Turns, a great track from The Wall and memorablke for te film in particular where Geldof goes buts and trashes a hotel culminating in the hurling of a TV out the hotel window. Listen to those cynical lyrics, "cold as a razor blade, tight as a tourniquet, dry as a funeral drum...." The freakout section in the instrumental passage was creepy, so emotional and heavy, I was stunned. "Would you like to watch TV or get between the sheets or contemplate the silent freeway..." It was not a popular song to play in front of my parents that's for sure. I wanted to hear the rest. I had to save up big to grab the double album.

The single is worth it for the sleeve and the sheer nostalgia of the birth of Pink Floyd's mass popularity saturation on the radio and MTV.
