2 stars I have a bit mixed feelings about that one. This album does not have one obvious stand-out track in comparison to the previous three albums. Also, the band has arguably streamlined and simplified their music ambitions. On the other hand, I like more sophisticated clean vocals emerging. The main essence of this album is black album first and foremost. It sounds brutal and less dark than on the two first albums. The first two tracks including intro are quite forgettable. "Urtical Gods" is the first track in English and it has at least good chord sequence and some atmospherics in it. "Ansuz Astral" is yet another fast overheating black metal track with little sophistication.

"Eit auga til mimir" has VIking elements in the song and finally also some quieter moments with guitar solo and semi- progressive drums. The last composition "Suttungs Mjod / Perkulator (outro)" finally brings some variety but not necessarily more quality. Perhaps the weakest album by Enslaved as of 2020.
