3 stars I can imagine that many will like this record. Ryo Okumoto produced an album that has many recognizable sounds, structures, hooks and turns.

The playing is immaculate and very much enjoyable. If you wish to be treated to a great musical outing, then The Myth of the Mostrophus completely delivers.

I don't know if I will return to it often though. It is a bit too safe for me, not adventurous enough. For me, it misses an element of prog music that appeals to me most. The feeling to be lost in the sauce, being put on the wrong foot by amazing choices of musical adventures.

On top of that, I am not liking the lyrics at all. Too plain, too simple.

But this is a decent album for sure.

I rate it 3 stars.
