3 stars The music on this obscure album is quite unique. From the beginning onward, you're taken to a friendly jazz-rock territory mixed with rock and folk music. This and the amount of instruments (Flute, saxophones, trumpet) make listening an eclectic experience. You can hear some American jazz-rock influence, Zappa moves and eccentricity. Thankfully, the majority of music is instrumental which makes especially the suite track dynamic. The other songs are more conventional in the vein of adventurous album rock with some jazzy elements. The title track reminds of early Chicago. "Spring theme, summer theme" features capturing vibraphone and mighty trumpet. Then we're approaching the late finale, a pretty condensed 7-minute varied and chaotic composition, a must-hear for Zappa fans. Not an essential album but certainly quite a unique one.
