4 stars "Adam and Eve" was my first Flower Kings album I heard in its entirety as I was getting to know modern progressive rock better back in 2004/5. Knowing primarily Yes, Genesis and ELP at that time, I instantly liked the instrumental track "Babylon" that was keyboard driven, always an attention-draw for me. After hearing it multiple times, I must admit, that this album has its charm and does not lag behind most other 4- stars album even though it does not top "Stardust we are". The typical not very focused songwriting is compensated by many short little pieces within each song that make their own world and it's easy to get lost in them.

One significant change is the addition of Gildenlöw to the lineup. I can't decide if it was a good or bad step. His presence lead to a Pain-of-Salvation song character with dramatic singing and metallic character leading to an alternative metal label. This development is only present at one track so not a disruptive change. Beside that we have the core FK sound in the two longest tracks on the album with a catchy main melody and numerous instrumental excursions and does not disappoint.
