Seven Nautical Miles biography
SEVEN NAUTICAL MILES are a Swedish post metal band who were formed by Johan Nordlund (drums) and Simon Wärja (guitar),who had played together in the thrash metal band MACHINERY OF SUFFERING.The duo left the band after losing interest in the genre and they both shared a desire to write and perform music with more emotion.

They were later joined by Mikael Holmberg (guitar) and Robert Holmström (bass).Besides being longtime friends,both musicians shared Johan and Simon's musical vision.Calling themselves SEVEN NAUTICAL MILES,the band started writing original material and also recruited vocalist Dag.

This incarnation of the band recorded a few tunes but after a couple of gigs Dag left the band and SEVEN NAUTICAL MILES found a new vocalist in Mathias Öystilä.The band also wanted a third guitarist,and the last member recruited into the band was guitarist Henrik Nyström,who had played with Mathias in the band RE VERA.

In 2008 the band released their debut album "Every Ocean Reversed" on Sound Devastation Records.

Similar to their contemporaries ISIS and PELICAN,SEVEN NAUTICAL MILES are highly recommended to all post metal fans.
