Dianoya biography
DIANOYA is a progressive metal band from Warsaw, Poland. The band formed in June of 2008 between two friends, guitarist Janek NIEDZIELSKI and singer Filip ZIELINSKI. Eventually the two pieced together a full band, completing their lineup with drummer Lukasz CHMIELINKI, bassist Adam PIERZCHALA, and also guitarist Maciej PAPALSKI. The five, all with music education backgrounds, began to compose many sophisticated and complex songs. The band self-released their first album, Obscurity Divine, on March 8, 2010. The young band has already met praise by many Polish critics. The band is influenced by popular progressive metal bands such as OPETH, RIVERSIDE, DREAM THEATER, and PORCUPINE TREE.

4 stars Polish band DIANOYA was formed by Janek Niedzielski and Filip Zielinski in 2008, and went from a project to a full-fledged band when Lukasz Chmielinski, Adam Pierzchala and Maciej Papalski opted to join in the following months. "Obscurity Divine" is their first production, and was released in the spring of 2010.

This is an excellent debut effort through and through. If you enjoy sophisticated progressive metal, enjoy bands that combine gentle and dampened passages with compact harder hitting themes with diversity as a key word, Dianoya may have created a CD you will enjoy with "Obscurity Divine", in particular, if you enjoy early Riverside and especially if you also enjoy Porcupine Tree.

Thanks to Rune2000 for the artist addition.
